Blizzard has announced what the next expansion will be for their popular cross-platform TCG title Hearthstone, and it will be called Journey To Un'Goro. If you are, or were, a player of World of Warcraft, you will already be familiar with the Un'Goro location, which was filled with dinosaurs and other fun furry playful creatures out to kill you.
The new expansion will feature 135 new cards that will be themed around the Un'Goro location from World of Warcraft and the creatures from there, with dinosaurs, killer plants, and more. However, like past expansions, there will be new mechanics being introduced with this one as well, and the most significant one will be a mechanic called Quests.
No matter which Quest card you get, they will all be Legendary in their rarity. Even crazier, Quests will always be available in your opening hand. They will also sit near your hero portrait, like your hero skill, until their activation trigger happens. However, Quests are not face down or anything like that, so your opponent can see the Quests you have and what they do. So how do Quests work? Well some are... well... just like actual quests. You fulfill their requirement and get a reward, and your opponent won't want you to do that.
Example of the Quest mechanic and reward
Another mechanic coming into the game is Adapt. This can appear on both creatures and spell cards. When you play a card with Adapt, it will let you pick from three different creature upgrades and pick the one that best suits that moment.
There's a lot of other nifty combos and features coming with Un'Goro, many of which are only hinted at right now. However you won't have to wait long for Journey to Un'Goro as it is slated for release sometime in April, which means pack pre-orders will be around the end of March. When we learn more, we will post an update.

Released by Gaijin Distribution, Star Conflict Heroes is a new combat and fleet management sim that's now available on Android. In this game, players will assume the role of captain of a ship named the Scotland, that hunts for salvage after a battle is completed.
Players will move their ship from one hot spot to the next, in the hopes of finding salvage, only to instead typically find marauders and other villainy instead, and deal with them accordingly. Different enemy types include pirates, aliens, and bosses. When combat ensues, players will select a squad of four ships out of their fleet; all told, there are 32 different models available within the game. Starfighters on both sides will fire automatically, and in real time. On the player's side though, are special attacks that players will decide when to use, and come with the requisite cool down period, after usage. These include the likes of high powered lasers, volleys of rockets, and more.
Star Conflict Heroes Features:
- Assemble a fleet of 32 distinct starships and upgrade them using blueprints, adding rare modules and loot seized in battle.
- Control your ships in exciting real-time 4v4 Sci-Fi combat that stays true to the traditions of the genre, allowing you to actively target the enemy with your ship’s special abilities.
- Fight rogue pirates, aliens and powerful bosses in Campaign, Portal, Pirate Battles and Boss game modes that demand new tactics for each battle.
- Defeat opposing fleets in PvP Arena battles, gain fame in the leaderboards and participate in tournaments to win prizes!
- Immerse yourself in a galactic journey to defend humanity in the stellar wars that followed the inexplicable arrival of a mysterious alien threat.
- Enjoy spectacular 3D graphics, stunning ship animations and special effects as well as captivating sounds and music.
Players will be able to upgrade their ships from loot seized in battle (among other areas), and will include both upgrading existing weapons, as well as choosing what to do with free and open slots, which all fall into the categories of either hardware and firmware. Lastly, the game does include a PvP option.
Star Conflict Heroes is now available from Google Play for free, and it includes both advertising, as well as optional IAPs. Interested players can check out the trailer below, to see more of the game in action.

Released by All Nighter Games, Doodle Wars is a new side scrolling shooter for Android. In this game, players will assume a Doodle, with some customiztion options availble (gender, hat, etc), in the hopes of ending the reign of King Smudgie; beyond this though, there isn't much for a story. Players will guide their Doodle left or right, and try to kill off all enemies that are encountered.
Players will need to keep an eye on both their health, as well as their ammo, though there's an opportunity between rounds to purchase more of either or both. As players kill off enemies, they will receive the gold required for such purchases, as well as upgrades to the weapons used by the Doodle. The graphics of the game appear almost hand drawn, and are almost exclusively monochromatic.
Across the top, there's a running tally of the player's ongoing score, what round they're in, and how much cash they've got left available. Players also have a minimap that rests in an upper corner, indicating both where the exit is for that portion of the level, as well as showing info about incoming enemies, such as where they will come from, and what of them are attacking. Players will use virtual buttons for the control scheme, with one button each for Dashing, Attacking, and Jumping.
Doodle Wars is available for free from Google Play. The game does contain ads though. Interested players can hit up the link, to download the game.

Coming soon to Android, KIDU: A Relentless Quest is a unique platformer that stresses the importance of how the player views the level. In this game, players will assume the role of a young boy named Chak, who is dissatisfied with life. He ends up spotting the girl of his dreams, and follows her in to an adventure.
The twist of this game is in the visuals, and you should really check out the trailer, as it seems to be a hybrid of a traditional 2.5D platformer, that has been crossed with the genre of puzzlers where players rotate the screen to change the level, based on how things appear at that moment. So, in this game, players can be moving along in this game, and will approach a gap in the platform that is too large to jump over.
Players can realign their screen (presumably using the gyroscope) in such a way as to cause elements in the background to fill in the gap and thus allow Chak to cross over the gap that is no longer there, despite being in the background at that time. The game contains a total of 14 levels that are spread out over four different worlds, and include themes such as Mayan or Chinese atmospheres.
The game is set to arrive in April, but no specific date was stipulated, beyond the month. The pricing for iOS is slated to be freemium, in that the first two levels are free followed by a single IAP of around $2.99, so it's reasonable to expect the same on Android. Interested players should check out the trailer below, to see how the game works.
Today during GDC 2017 Google went over a couple of new features that will be beneficial for both developers and consumers when using Google Play. The most obvious change, which will be visible in each Google Play listing, is a strikethrough price when an application or game goes on sale. This is in order to make it more obvious to consumers when a game or app is on sale, instead of having to rely on a developer posting it in the game's description. There will also be a little note that sale when the sale will be ending.
The other change is mainly for developers and focuses on improving game discoverability on Google Play for their products. However, it is more focused on games that have 'strong user retention and user engagement' numbers will be more featured on Google Play than games that do not. How this will actually work out remains to be see as they are plenty of good games from indie developers that may remain in the shadows of popular titles and this type of change really won't help them that much if at all.
The last improvement coming is the addition of editorial pages. These will feature hand-picked games, more than likely from Google Play staff, and each section will have those pages with their game selections available for that particular genre of game.
All of these changes should start becoming available as of today, and you should already be seeing strikethrough pricing showing up on games that are now on sale.

While we are covering GDC 2017, Mobile World Congress 2017 in currently underway at the same time over in Barcelona, and for some reason Niantic Labs is there talking about future plans of Pokemon GO. These plans include three, already planned, big updates.
Unfortunately Niantic CEO John Hanke didn't go into too much more detail than that but from what we know is already slated to be making its way to Pokemon GO, we can safely bet that Pokemon trading and better PvP systems are two of the bigger features coming to the game in these updates. Apparently a new gym system is also being talked about.
Back in October news came out that Pokemon trading between players is something the company has been looking into. Along with that, a better way for players to fight each other was also on the bill for being added to the game. However it appears that the trading part has been pushed a little down the priority list, so if these big updates are going to be these features, we should see the PvP and new gym system showing up first.
Whatever arrives first, all of these are very much needed if this game is going to continue to succeed. PvP in the world should have already been in the game, along with player Pokemon trading. When we learn more, we will post an update.

Released by Kuyi Mobile, Pocket Arcade is a small collection of the kinds of games that one would expect to find in the breezeways of stores, or in arcades of sorts. There are four mini-games found within Pocket Arcade, all of which are different but pretty good time killers.
1. UFO Catcher, which is basically the game where players attempt to grab prizes guiding a mechanical claw that drops from above.
2. Mayan Coin Pusher, where players drop a coin through a narrow and oscillating chute, in the hopes that the coin will land where it can add to the pile of coins in such a way that coins will drop off the front ledge, towards the player.
3. Alien Whacker is a spin on whack-a-mole, where both aliens and astronauts pop up from lunar craters. The difference here is that players need to avoid the astronauts and whack only the aliens.
4. Hoop Hero, where players attempt to shoot as many basketballs as possible through the hoop, while time remains. The hoop moves in subsequent rounds.
Players begin the game with tokens, which are used to pay for that session. Coins are automatically refilled over time, with players being notified once that's completed. Alternatively, more can either be won in the Mayan coin pushing game (though in my limited experience, that's a losing proposition), earned by watching a video ad, purchased via IAPs. Players will collect prizes in games, though the game seems to lack any type of trophy room where prizes could be displayed, despite them showing up as "winnable", as often as not.
All four games also have power-ups that can be purchased with tokens. These are different ways to make the mini-games a bit easier. As an example, players have the option to make the mechanical claw "magnetic", so it's easier to retrieve prizes, trigger a bomb to shuffle them around, or just straight up grab one without trying; all of these come at varying costs.
Pocket Arcade is available for free from Google Play, in its beta form. It includes both ads (interstitial as well as optional), and the aforementioned IAPs. Interested players can check out the link below to see the trailer which breaks down the mini-games included.
